All the news from this year’s festival coming soon!
Fame at last! We have been chosen by RTE to appear in the Ray D’Arcy St. Patrick’s Day 2018 TV show. Come and see us first in the Ratoath and Ashbourne St. Patrick’s Day Parades, at 12noon and 1.30pm respectively on Saturday 17th March 2018. Then sit back and relax and watch us later that day at 9.45pm parade LIVE through the RTE studios.
All costumes and characters are made by volunteers under the guidance of the festival Creative Director Brian Walsh (who in his day job is Coordinator of a portfolio preparation course at Ballyfermot College of Further Education) and Ed Rourke from Bui Bolg. Bui Bolg has been working in street arts for 22 years and are specialists in Puppet and Costume making for stage, street, and TV. They have led puppet making workshops with professional and community groups all over the world from schools to colleges to masterclasses with industry professionals. Their most recent projects include “The Dig in Diner” on RTE Junior, Mr Tayto for Largo Foods and the City of Brest ” LE MARCHÉ DE NOËL DE BREST” with Le Fourneau Creation Centre in France. This project is part funded by Meath County Council.read more
